20 - Ta-Ha (Ta Ha)

Order of Revelation: 45

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Transliteration:

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi

Word by Word:

In (the) name (of) Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Translations:

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace.

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

مَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ لِتَشْقَىٰ

Transliteration:

Ma anzalna AAalayka alqur-ana litashqa

Word by Word:

Not We (have) sent down to you the Quran that you be distressed

Translations:

O MAN! We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy,

We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress,

We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed,

We have not revealed the Qur'an to thee that thou mayest be unsuccessful;

We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed

إِلَّا تَذْكِرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰ

Transliteration:

Illa tathkiratan liman yakhsha

Word by Word:

(But) (as) a reminder for (those) who fear

Translations:

but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]:

But only as an admonition to those who fear (God),-

But as a reminder unto him who feareth,

But it is a reminder to him who fears:

But only as a reminder for those who fear [ Allah ] -

تَنزِيلًا مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَ الْأَرْضَ وَالسَّمَاوَاتِ الْعُلَى

Transliteration:

Tanzeelan mimman khalaqa al-arda waalssamawati alAAula

A revelation from (He) Who created the earth and the heavens [the] high,

Translations:

a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens

A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high.

A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens,

A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens,

الرَّحْمَٰنُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوَىٰ

Transliteration:

Alrrahmanu AAala alAAarshi istawa

Word by Word:

The Most Gracious over the Throne is established.

Translations:

the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness?

(God) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority).

The Beneficent One, Who is established on the Throne.

The Beneficent is established on the Throne of Power.

The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established.
