71 - Noah (Noah)

Order of Revelation: 71

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Transliteration:

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi

Word by Word:

In (the) name (of) Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Translations:

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace.

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

Transliteration:

Inna arsalna noohan ila qawmihi an anthir qawmaka min qabli an ya/tiyahum AAathabun aleemun

Word by Word:

Indeed, We [We] sent Nuh to his people, that "Warn your people from before [that] comes to them a punishment painful."

Translations:

BEHOLD. We sent Noah unto his people. [saying:] "Warn thy people ere grievous suffering befall them!

We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty."

Lo! We sent Noah unto his people (saying): Warn thy people ere the painful doom come unto them.

Surely We sent Noah to his people, saying: Warn thy people before there come to them a painful chastisement.

Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment."

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

Transliteration:

Qala ya qawmi innee lakum natheerun mubeenun

Word by Word:

He said, "O my people! Indeed, I am to you a warner clear.

Translations:

[And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you]

He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open:

He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you

He said: O my people, surely I am a plain warner to you:

He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner,

أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Transliteration:

Ani oAAbudoo Allaha waittaqoohu waateeAAooni

Word by Word:

That Worship Allah, and fear Him and obey me.

Translations:

that you should worship God [alone] and be conscious of Him. "Now do pay heed unto me,

"That ye should worship God, fear Him and obey me:

(Bidding you): Serve Allah and keep your duty unto Him and obey me,

That you should serve Allah and keep your duty to Him and obey me --

[Saying], 'Worship Allah , fear Him and obey me.

يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى إِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ إِذَا جَاءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

Transliteration:

Yaghfir lakum min thunoobikum wayu-akhkhirkum ila ajalin musamman inna ajala Allahi itha jaa la yu-akhkharu law kuntum taAAlamoona

Word by Word:

He will forgive for you [of] your sins and give you for a term specified. Indeed, (the) term, (of) Allah, when it comes not is delayed, if you know."

Translations:

so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!"

"So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by God is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew."

That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Lo! the term of Allah, when it cometh, cannot be delayed, if ye but knew.

He will forgive you some of your sins and grant you respite to an appointed term. Surely the term of Allah, when it comes, is not postponed. Did you but know!

Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah , when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' "

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِي لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا

Transliteration:

Qala rabbi innee daAAawtu qawmee laylan wanaharan

Word by Word:

He said, "My Lord! Indeed, I invited my people night and day.

Translations:

[And after a time, Noah] said: "O my Sustainer! Verily, I have been calling unto my people night and day

He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day:

He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day

He said: My Lord, I have called my people night and day:

He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day.
