61 - The Column (Al-Suff)
Order of Revelation: 109بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
In (the) name (of) Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace.
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Sabbaha lillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee al-ardi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
Glorifies Allah whatever (is) in the heavens and whatever (is) in the earth. And He (is) the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
ALL THAT IS in the heavens and all that is on earth extols God's limitless glory: for He alone is almighty, truly wise!
Whatever is in the heavens and on earth, let it declare the Praises and Glory of God: for He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifieth Allah, and He is the Mighty, the Wise.
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth glorifies Allah; and He is the Mighty, the Wise.
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth exalts Allah , and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لِمَ تَقُولُونَ مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo lima taqooloona ma la tafAAaloona
O you who believe! Why (do) you say what you do not do?
O YOU who have attained to faith! Why do you say one thing and do another?
O ye who believe! Why say ye that which ye do not?
O ye who believe! Why say ye that which ye do not?
O you who believe, why say you that which you do not?
O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do?
كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ اللَّهِ أَن تَقُولُوا مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ
Kabura maqtan AAinda Allahi an taqooloo ma la tafAAaloona
Great is hatred with Allah that you say what you do not do?
Most loathsome is it in the sight of God that you say what you do not do!
Grievously odious is it in the sight of God that ye say that which ye do not.
It is most hateful in the sight of Allah that ye say that which ye do not.
It is most hateful in the sight of Allah that you say that which you do not.
Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do.
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الَّذِينَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ صَفًّا كَأَنَّهُم بُنْيَانٌ مَّرْصُوصٌ
Inna Allaha yuhibbu allatheena yuqatiloona fee sabeelihi saffan kaannahum bunyanun marsoosun
Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His Way (in) a row as if they (were) a structure joined firmly.
Verily, God loves [only] those who fight in His cause in [solid] ranks, as though they were a building firm and compact.
Truly God loves those who fight in His Cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure.
Lo! Allah loveth them who battle for His cause in ranks, as if they were a solid structure.
Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way in ranks, as if they were a solid wall.
Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause in a row as though they are a [single] structure joined firmly.
وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ لِمَ تُؤْذُونَنِي وَقَد تَّعْلَمُونَ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ فَلَمَّا زَاغُوا أَزَاغَ اللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِقِينَ
Wa-ith qala moosa liqawmihi ya qawmi lima tu/thoonanee waqad taAAlamoona annee rasoolu Allahi ilaykum falamma zaghoo azagha Allahu quloobahum waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alfasiqeena
And when said Musa to his people, "O my people! Why do you hurt me while certainly you know that I am (the) Messenger of Allah to you?" Then when they deviated, Allah caused to their hearts. And Allah (does) not guide the people, the defiantly disobedient.
Now when Moses spoke to his people, [it was this same truth that he had in mind:] "O my people! Why do you cause me grief, the while you know that I am an apostle of God sent unto you?" And so, when they swerved from the right way, God let their hearts swerve from the truth: for God does not bestow His guidance upon iniquitous folk.
And remember, Moses said to his people: "O my people! why do ye vex and insult me, though ye know that I am the apostle of God (sent) to you?" Then when they went wrong, God let their hearts go wrong. For God guides not those who are rebellio us transgressors.
And (remember) when Moses said unto his people: O my people! Why persecute ye me, when ye well know that I am Allah's messenger unto you? So when they went astray Allah sent their hearts astray. And Allah guideth not the evil-living folk.
And when Moses said to his people: O my people, why do you malign me, when you know that I am Allah's messenger to you? But when they deviated, Allah made their hearts deviate. And Allah guides not the transgressing people.
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, "O my people, why do you harm me while you certainly know that I am the messenger of Allah to you?" And when they deviated, Allah caused their hearts to deviate. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.
