19 - Mary (Maryam)

Order of Revelation: 44

إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَأُولَٰئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا

Transliteration:

Illa man taba waamana waAAamila salihan faola-ika yadkhuloona aljannata wala yuthlamoona shay-an

Word by Word:

Except (one) who repented and believed and did good (deeds). Then those will enter Paradise and not they will be wronged (in) anything.

Translations:

Excepted, however, shall be those who repent and attain to faith and do righteous deeds: for it is they who will enter paradise and will not be wronged in any way:

Except those who repent and believe, and work righteousness: for these will enter the Garden and will not be wronged in the least,-

Save him who shall repent and believe and do right. Such will enter the Garden, and they will not be wronged in aught -

Except those who repent and believe and do good -- such will enter the Garden, and they will not be wronged in aught:

Except those who repent, believe and do righteousness; for those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged at all.

جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ الَّتِي وَعَدَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ عِبَادَهُ بِالْغَيْبِ إِنَّهُ كَانَ وَعْدُهُ مَأْتِيًّا

Transliteration:

Jannati AAadnin allatee waAAada alrrahmanu AAibadahu bialghaybi innahu kana waAAduhu ma/tiyyan

Word by Word:

Gardens (of) Eden, which promised the Most Gracious (to) His slaves in the unseen. Indeed, [it] is His promise sure to come.

Translations:

[theirs will be the] gardens of perpetual bliss which the Most Gracious has promised unto His servants, in a realm which is beyond the reach of human perception: [and,] verily, His promise is ever sure of fulfilment!

Gardens of Eternity, those which (God) Most Gracious has promised to His servants in the Unseen: for His promise must (necessarily) come to pass.

Gardens of Eden, which the Beneficent hath promised to His slaves in the unseen. Lo! His promise is ever sure of fulfilment -

Gardens of perpetuity which the Beneficent has promised to His servants in the Unseen. Surely His promise ever comes to pass.

[Therein are] gardens of perpetual residence which the Most Merciful has promised His servants in the unseen. Indeed, His promise has ever been coming.

لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَامًا وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا

Transliteration:

La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan illa salaman walahum rizquhum feeha bukratan waAAashiyyan

Word by Word:

Not they will hear therein vain talk but peace. And for them (is) their provision therein, morning and evening.

Translations:

No empty talk will they hear there-nothing but [tidings of] inner soundness and peace; and there will they have their sustenance by day and by night:

They will not there hear any vain discourse, but only salutations of Peace: And they will have therein their sustenance, morning and evening.

They hear therein no idle talk, but only Peace; and therein they have food for morn and evening.

They will hear therein no vain discourse, but only, Peace! And they have their sustenance therein, morning and evening.

They will not hear therein any ill speech - only [greetings of] peace - and they will have their provision therein, morning and afternoon.

تِلْكَ الْجَنَّةُ الَّتِي نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَن كَانَ تَقِيًّا

Transliteration:

Tilka aljannatu allatee noorithu min AAibadina man kana taqiyyan

Word by Word:

This (is) Paradise, which We give (as) inheritance [of] (to) Our slaves (the one) who is righteous.

Translations:

this is the paradise which We grant as a heritage unto such of Our servants as are conscious of Us.

Such is the Garden which We give as an inheritance to those of Our servants who guard against Evil.

Such is the Garden which We cause the devout among Our bondmen to inherit.

This is the Garden which We cause those of Our servants to inherit who keep their duty.

That is Paradise, which We give as inheritance to those of Our servants who were fearing of Allah .

وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا

Transliteration:

Wama natanazzalu illa bi-amri rabbika lahu ma bayna aydeena wama khalfana wama bayna thalika wama kana rabbuka nasiyyan

Word by Word:

And not we descend except by (the) Command (of) your Lord. To Him (belongs) what (is) before us and what (is) behind us, and what (is) between that. And not is your Lord forgetful

Translations:

AND [the angels say]: "We do not descend [with revelation], again and again, other than by thy Sustainer's command: unto Him belongs all that lies open before us and all that is hidden-from us and all that is in-between. And never does thy Sustainer forget [anything]

(The angels say:) "We descend not but by command of thy Lord: to Him belongeth what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between: and thy Lord never doth forget,-

We (angels) come not down save by commandment of thy Lord. Unto Him belongeth all that is before us and all that is behind us and all that is between those two, and thy Lord was never forgetful -

And we descend not but by the command of thy Lord. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us and what is between these, and thy Lord is never forgetful.

[Gabriel said], "And we [angels] descend not except by the order of your Lord. To Him belongs that before us and that behind us and what is in between. And never is your Lord forgetful -

رَّبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَاعْبُدْهُ وَاصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَادَتِهِ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُ سَمِيًّا

Transliteration:

Rabbu alssamawati waal-ardi wama baynahuma faoAAbudhu waistabir liAAibadatihi hal taAAlamu lahu samiyyan

Word by Word:

Lord (of) the heavens and the earth and whatever (is) between both of them, so worship Him and be constant in His worship. Do you know for Him any similarity?

Translations:

the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them! Worship, then, Him alone, and remain steadfast in His worship! Dost thou know any whose name is worthy to be mentioned side by side with His?"

"Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and of all that is between them; so worship Him, and be constant and patient in His worship: knowest thou of any who is worthy of the same Name as He?"

Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them! Therefor, worship thou Him and be thou steadfast in His service. Knowest thou one that can be named along with Him?

Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, so serve Him and be patient in His service. Knowest thou any one equal to Him?

Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them - so worship Him and have patience for His worship. Do you know of any similarity to Him?"
