3 - The Amramites (Ali-'Imran)
Order of Revelation: 89
Wama jaAAalahu Allahu illa bushra lakum walitatma-inna quloobukum bihi wama alnnasru illa min AAindi Allahi alAAazeezi alhakeemi
And not made it Allah except (as) good news for you and to reassure your hearts with it. And (there is) no [the] victory except from [near] Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
And God ordained this [to be said by His Apostle ] only as a glad tiding for you, and that your hearts should thereby be set at rest - since no succour can come from any save God, the Almighty, the Truly Wise -
God made it but a message of hope for you, and an assurance to your hearts: (in any case) there is no help except from God. The Exalted, the Wise:
Allah ordained this only as a message of good cheer for you, and that thereby your hearts might be at rest - Victory cometh only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise -
And Allah made it only as good news for you, and that your hearts might be at ease thereby. And help comes only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise,
And Allah made it not except as [a sign of] good tidings for you and to reassure your hearts thereby. And victory is not except from Allah , the Exalted in Might, the Wise -
LiyaqtaAAa tarafan mina allatheena kafaroo aw yakbitahum fayanqaliboo kha-ibeena
That He may cut off a part of those who disbelieved or suppress them so (that) they turn back disappointed.
[and] that [through you] He might destroy some of those who were bent on denying the truth, and so abase the others that they would withdraw in utter hopelessness.
That He might cut off a fringe of the Unbelievers or expose them to infamy, and they should then be turned back, frustrated of their purpose.
That He may cut off a part of those who disbelieve, or overwhelm them so that they retire, frustrated.
That He may cut off a part of those who disbelieve or abase them so that they should return in failure.
That He might cut down a section of the disbelievers or suppress them so that they turn back disappointed.
Laysa laka mina al-amri shay-on aw yatooba AAalayhim aw yuAAaththibahum fa-innahum thalimoona
Not for you of the decision (of) anything whether He turns to them or punishes them for indeed, they (are) wrongdoers.
[And] it is in no wise for thee [O Prophet] to decide whether He shall accept their repentance or chastise them - for, behold, they are but wrongdoers,
Not for thee, (but for God), is the decision: Whether He turn in mercy to them, or punish them; for they are indeed wrong-doers.
It is no concern at all of thee (Muhammad) whether He relent toward them or punish them; for they are evil-doers.
Thou has no concern in the matter whether He turns to them (mercifully) or chastises them; surely they are wrongdoers.
Not for you, [O Muhammad, but for Allah ], is the decision whether He should [cut them down] or forgive them or punish them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers.
Walillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee al-ardi yaghfiru liman yashao wayuAAaththibu man yashao waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun
And to Allah (belongs) what (is) in the heavens and what (is) in the earth, He forgives [for] whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And Allah (is) Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
whereas unto God belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth: He forgives whom He wills, and He chastises whom He wills; and God is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace.
To God belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth. He forgiveth whom He pleaseth and punisheth whom He pleaseth; but God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. He forgiveth whom He will, and punisheth whom He will. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. He forgives whom He pleases and chastises whom He pleases. And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la ta/kuloo alrriba adAAafan mudaAAafatan waittaqoo Allaha laAAallakum tuflihoona
O you who believe! (Do) not eat the usury doubled multiplied. And fear Allah so that you may (be) successful.
O YOU who have attained to faith! Do not gorge yourselves on usury, doubling and re-doubling it - but remain conscious of God, so that you might attain to a happy state;
O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubled and multiplied; but fear God; that ye may (really) prosper.
O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubling and quadrupling (the sum lent). Observe your duty to Allah, that ye may be successful.
O you who believe, devour not usury, doubling and redoubling, and keep your duty to Allah, that you may be successful.
O you who have believed, do not consume usury, doubled and multiplied, but fear Allah that you may be successful.
Waittaqoo alnnara allatee oAAiddat lilkafireena
And fear the Fire which is prepared for the disbelievers.
and beware of the fire which awaits those who deny the truth!
Fear the Fire, which is repaired for those who reject Faith:
And ward off (from yourselves) the Fire prepared for disbelievers.
And guard yourselves against the fire which has been prepared for the disbelievers.
And fear the Fire, which has been prepared for the disbelievers.
