Order of Revelation: 89
Allatheena qaloo li-ikhwanihim waqaAAadoo law ataAAoona ma qutiloo qul faidraoo AAan anfusikumu almawta in kuntum sadiqeena
Those who said about their brothers while they sat, "If they (had) obeyed us not they would have been killed." Say, "Then avert from yourselves [the] death if you are truthful.
they who, having themselves held back [from fighting, later] said of their [slain] brethren, "Had they but paid heed to us, they would not have been slain." Say: "Avert, then, death from yourselves, if what you say is true!"
(They are) the ones that say, (of their brethren slain), while they themselves sit (at ease): "If only they had listened to us they would not have been slain." Say: "Avert death from your own selves, if ye speak the truth."
Those who, while they sat at home, said of their brethren (who were fighting for the cause of Allah): If they had been guided by us they would not have been slain. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Then avert death from yourselves if ye are truthful.
Those who said of their brethren whilst they (themselves) held back: Had they obeyed us, they would not have been killed. Say: Avert death from yourselves, if you are truthful.
Those who said about their brothers while sitting [at home], "If they had obeyed us, they would not have been killed." Say, "Then prevent death from yourselves, if you should be truthful."
Wala tahsabanna allatheena qutiloo fee sabeeli Allahi amwatan bal ahyaon AAinda rabbihim yurzaqoona
And (do) not think (of) those who are killed in (the) way (of) Allah (as) dead. Nay! They are alive, near their Lord; they are given provision.
But do not think of those that have been slain in God's cause as dead. Nay, they are alive! With their Sustainer have they their sustenance,
Think not of those who are slain in God's way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord;
Think not of those, who are slain in the way of Allah, as dead. Nay, they are living. With their Lord they have provision.
And think not of those who are killed in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they are alive being provided sustenance from their Lord,
And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision,

Allatheena istajaboo lillahi waalrrasooli min baAAdi ma asabahumu alqarhu lillatheena ahsanoo minhum waittaqaw ajrun AAatheemun
Those who responded to Allah and the Messenger after what befell them - the injury - for those who did good among them and feared Allah, (is) a reward - great.
who responded to the call of God and the Apostle after misfortune had befallen them. A magnificent requital awaits those of them who have persevered in doing good and remained conscious of God:
Of those who answered the call of God and the Apostle, even after being wounded, those who do right and refrain from wrong have a great reward;-
As for those who heard the call of Allah and His messenger after the harm befell them (in the fight); for such of them as do right and ward off (evil), there is great reward.
Those who responded to the call of Allah and the Messenger after the misfortune had befallen them -- for such among them who do good and keep their duty is a great reward.
Those [believers] who responded to Allah and the Messenger after injury had struck them. For those who did good among them and feared Allah is a great reward -

Those who said to them [the people], "Indeed the people (have) certainly gathered against you, so fear them." But it increased them (in) faith and they said, "Sufficient for us (is) Allah and (He is the) best [the] Disposer of affairs."
those who have been warned by other people, "Behold, a host has gathered against you; so beware of them!" - whereupon this only increased their faith, so that they answered, "God is enough for us; and how excellent a guardian is He!"
Men said to them: "A great army is gathering against you": And frightened them: But it (only) increased their Faith: They said: "For us God sufficeth, and He is the best disposer of affairs."
Those unto whom men said: Lo! the people have gathered against you, therefor fear them. (The threat of danger) but increased the faith of them and they cried: Allah is Sufficient for us! Most Excellent is He in Whom we trust!
Those to whom men said: Surely people have gathered against you, so fear them; but this increased their faith, and they said: Allah is sufficient for us and He is an excellent Guardian.
Those to whom hypocrites said, "Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah , and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs."
