27 - The Ant (Al-Naml)

Order of Revelation: 48

قُلْ عَسَىٰ أَن يَكُونَ رَدِفَ لَكُم بَعْضُ الَّذِي تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

Transliteration:

Qul AAasa an yakoona radifa lakum baAAdu allathee tastaAAjiloona

Word by Word:

Say, "Perhaps that is close behind you, some (of) that which you seek to hasten."

Translations:

say thou: It may well be that something of that which [in your ignorance] you so hastily demands has already drawn close unto you."

Say: "It may be that some of the events which ye wish to hasten on may be (close) in your pursuit!"

Say: It may be that a part of that which ye would hasten on is close behind you.

Say: Maybe somewhat of that which you seek to hasten has drawn nigh to you.

Say, "Perhaps it is close behind you - some of that for which you are impatient.

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ

Transliteration:

Wa-inna rabbaka lathoo fadlin AAala alnnasi walakinna aktharahum la yashkuroona

Word by Word:

And indeed, your Lord (is) full of Bounty for the mankind, but most of them (are) not grateful.

Translations:

Now, verily, thy Sustainer is indeed limitless in His bounty unto men - but most of them are bereft of gratitude.

But verily thy Lord is full of grace to mankind: Yet most of them are ungrateful.

Lo! thy Lord is full of bounty for mankind, but most of them do not give thanks.

And surely thy Lord is full of grace to men, but most of them do not give thanks.

And indeed, your Lord is full of bounty for the people, but most of them do not show gratitude."

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ

Transliteration:

Wa-inna rabbaka layaAAlamu ma tukinnu sudooruhum wama yuAAlinoona

Word by Word:

And indeed, your Lord surely knows what conceals their breasts and what they declare.

Translations:

But, verily, thy Sustainer knows all that their hearts conceal as well as all that they bring into the open:

And verily thy Lord knoweth all that their hearts do hide. As well as all that they reveal.

Lo! thy Lord knoweth surely all that their bosoms hide, and all that they proclaim.

And surely thy Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they manifest.

And indeed, your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare.

وَمَا مِنْ غَائِبَةٍ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ

Transliteration:

Wama min gha-ibatin fee alssama-i waal-ardi illa fee kitabin mubeenin

Word by Word:

And not (is) any (thing) hidden in the heavens and the earth but (is) in a Record clear.

Translations:

for there is nothing [so deeply] hidden in the heavens or on earth but is recorded in [His] clear decree.

Nor is there aught of the unseen, in heaven or earth, but is (recorded) in a clear record.

And there is nothing hidden in the heaven or the earth but it is in a clear Record.

And there is nothing concealed in the heaven and the earth but it is in a clear book.

And there is nothing concealed within the heaven and the earth except that it is in a clear Register.

إِنَّ هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنَ يَقُصُّ عَلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَكْثَرَ الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ

Transliteration:

Inna hatha alqur-ana yaqussu AAala banee isra-eela akthara allathee hum feehi yakhtalifoona

Word by Word:

Indeed, this [the] Quran relates to (the) Children (of) Israel, most (of) that they in it differ.

Translations:

BEHOLD, this Qur'an explains to the children of Israel most [of that] whereon they hold divergent views;

Verily this Qur'an doth explain to the Children of Israel most of the matters in which they disagree.

Lo! this Qur'an narrateth unto the Children of Israel most of that concerning which they differ.

Surely this Qur'an declares to the Children of Israel most of that wherein they differ.

Indeed, this Qur'an relates to the Children of Israel most of that over which they disagree.

وَإِنَّهُ لَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Transliteration:

Wa-innahu lahudan warahmatun lilmu/mineena

Word by Word:

And indeed, it (is) surely a guidance and a mercy for the believers.

Translations:

and, verily, it is a guidance and a grace unto all who believe [in it].

And it certainly is a Guide and a Mercy to those who believe.

And lo! it is a guidance and a mercy for believers.

And surely it is a guidance and a mercy for the believers.

And indeed, it is guidance and mercy for the believers.
