51 - Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhareyat)
Order of Revelation: 67قَالُوا كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْعَلِيمُ
Qaloo kathaliki qala rabbuki innahu huwa alhakeemu alAAaleemu
They said, "Thus said your Lord. Indeed, He [He] (is) the All-Wise, the All-Knower."
They answered: Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and, verily, He alone is truly wise, all- knowing!"
They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge."
They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower.
They said: Thus says thy Lord. Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing.
They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing."
قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ
Qala fama khatbukum ayyuha almursaloona
He said, "Then what (is) your mission, O messengers?"
Said [Abraham]: And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?"
(Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?"
(Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)?
He said: What is your errand, O messengers!
[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?"
قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
Qaloo inna orsilna ila qawmin mujrimeena
They said, "Indeed, we [we] have been sent to a people criminal,
They answered: Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin,
They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;-
They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk,
They said: We have been sent to a guilty people
They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals
لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن طِينٍ
Linursila AAalayhim hijaratan min teenin
That we may send down upon them stones of clay,
to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement,
"To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone),
That we may send upon them stones of clay,
That we may send upon them stones of clay.
To send down upon them stones of clay,
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ
Musawwamatan AAinda rabbika lilmusrifeena
Marked by your Lord for the transgressors."
marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves."
"Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds."
Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton.
Marked from thy Lord for the prodigal.
Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors."
فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Faakhrajna man kana feeha mina almu/mineena
Then We brought out (those) who were therein of the believers.
And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there:
Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there,
Then we brought forth such believers as were there.
Then we brought forth such believers as were there.
So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers.
