69 - Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Order of Revelation: 78لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةً وَتَعِيَهَا أُذُنٌ وَاعِيَةٌ
LinajAAalaha lakum tathkiratan wataAAiyaha othunun waAAiyatun
That We might make it for you a reminder and would be conscious of it an ear conscious.
so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in.
That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance.
That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember.
That We might make it a reminder for you, and that the retaining ear might retain it.
That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it.
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ
Fa-itha nufikha fee alssoori nafkhatun wahidatun
Then when is blown in the trumpet - a blast single,
Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast,
Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet,
And when the trumpet shall sound one blast
So when the trumpet is blown with a single blast,
Then when the Horn is blown with one blast
وَحُمِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةً وَاحِدَةً
Wahumilati al-ardu waaljibalu fadukkata dakkatan wahidatan
And are lifted the earth and the mountains and crushed (with) a crushing single.
and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke!
And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,-
And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash,
And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with one crash --
And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow -
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ
Fayawma-ithin waqaAAati alwaqiAAatu
Then (on) that Day will occur the Occurrence,
And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass;
On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass.
Then, on that day will the Event befall.
On that day will the Event come to pass,
Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur,
وَانشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَهِيَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌ
Wainshaqqati alssamao fahiya yawma-ithin wahiyatun
And will split the heaven, so it (is on) that Day frail.
and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day - ;
And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy,
And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail.
And the heaven will be cleft asunder; so that day it will be frail,
And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm.
وَالْمَلَكُ عَلَىٰ أَرْجَائِهَا وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَانِيَةٌ
Waalmalaku AAala arja-iha wayahmilu AAarsha rabbika fawqahum yawma-ithin thamaniyatun
And the Angels (will be) on its edges, and will bear (the) Throne (of) your Lord above them, that Day, eight.
and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and, above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness¬Ö
And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them.
And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them.
And the angels will be on its sides. And above them eight will bear that day thy Lord's Throne of Power.
And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them].
