41 - Detailed (Fussilat)
Order of Revelation: 61وَنَجَّيْنَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ
Wanajjayna allatheena amanoo wakanoo yattaqoona
And We saved those who believed and used to fear (Allah).
and We saved [only] those who had attained to faith and were conscious of Us.
But We delivered those who believed and practised righteousness.
And We delivered those who believed and used to keep their duty to Allah.
And We delivered those who believed and kept their duty.
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allah .
وَيَوْمَ يُحْشَرُ أَعْدَاءُ اللَّهِ إِلَى النَّارِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ
Wayawma yuhsharu aAAdao Allahi ila alnnari fahum yoozaAAoona
And (the) Day will be gathered (the) enemies (of) Allah to the Fire, then they will be assembled in rows,
Hence, [warn all men of] the Day when the enemies of God shall be gathered together before the fire, and then shall be driven onward,
On the Day that the enemies of God will be gathered together to the Fire, they will be marched in ranks.
And (make mention of) the day when the enemies of Allah are gathered unto the Fire, they are driven on
And the day when the enemies of Allah are gathered to the Fire, they will be formed into groups.
And [mention, O Muhammad], the Day when the enemies of Allah will be gathered to the Fire while they are [driven] assembled in rows,
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا مَا جَاءُوهَا شَهِدَ عَلَيْهِمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَأَبْصَارُهُمْ وَجُلُودُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
Hatta itha ma jaooha shahida AAalayhim samAAuhum waabsaruhum wajulooduhum bima kanoo yaAAmaloona
Until, when they come to it (will) testify against them their hearing, and their sight, and their skins, (as) to what they used to do.
till, when they come close to it, their hearing and their sight and their [very] skins will bear witness against them, speaking of what they were doing [on earth].
At length, when they reach the (Fire), their hearing, their sight, and their skins will bear witness against them, as to (all) their deeds.
Till, when they reach it, their ears and their eyes and their skins testify against them as to what they used to do.
Until, when they come to it, their ears and their eyes and their skins will bear witness against them as to what they did.
Until, when they reach it, their hearing and their eyes and their skins will testify against them of what they used to do.
وَقَالُوا لِجُلُودِهِمْ لِمَ شَهِدتُّمْ عَلَيْنَا قَالُوا أَنطَقَنَا اللَّهُ الَّذِي أَنطَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ خَلَقَكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
Waqaloo lijuloodihim lima shahidtum AAalayna qaloo antaqana Allahu allathee antaqa kulla shay-in wahuwa khalaqakum awwala marratin wa-ilayhi turjaAAoona
And they will say to their skins, "Why do you testify against us?" They will say, "Allah made us speak, the One Who makes speak every thing; and He created you (the) first time, and to Him you will be returned."
And they will ask their skins, Why did you bear witness against us?" - [and] these will reply: God, who gives speech to all things, has given speech to us [as well]: for He [it is who] has created you in the first instance - and unto Him you are [now] brought back.
They will say to their skins: "Why bear ye witness against us?" They will say: "God hath given us speech,- (He) Who giveth speech to everything: He created you for the first time, and unto Him were ye to return.
And they say unto their skins: Why testify ye against us? They say: Allah hath given us speech Who giveth speech to all things, and Who created you at the first, and unto Whom ye are returned.
And they will say to their skins: Why bear ye witness against us? They will say: Allah Who makes everything speak has made us speak, and He created you at first, and to Him you are returned.
And they will say to their skins, "Why have you testified against us?" They will say, "We were made to speak by Allah , who has made everything speak; and He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned.
وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَتِرُونَ أَن يَشْهَدَ عَلَيْكُمْ سَمْعُكُمْ وَلَا أَبْصَارُكُمْ وَلَا جُلُودُكُمْ وَلَٰكِن ظَنَنتُمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَعْلَمُ كَثِيرًا مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
Wama kuntum tastatiroona an yashhada AAalaykum samAAukum wala absarukum wala juloodukum walakin thanantum anna Allaha la yaAAlamu katheeran mimma taAAmaloona
And not you were covering yourselves lest testify against you your hearing and not your sight and not your skins, but you assumed that Allah (does) not know much of what you do.
And you did not try to hide [your sins] lest your hearing or your sight or your skins bear witness against you: nay, but you thought that God did not know much of what you were doing
"Ye did not seek to hide yourselves, lest your hearing, your sight, and your skins should bear witness against you! But ye did think that God knew not many of the things that ye used to do!
Ye did not hide yourselves lest your ears and your eyes and your skins should testify against you, but ye deemed that Allah knew not much of what ye did.
And you did not cover yourselves lest your ears and your eyes and your skins should bear witness against you, but you thought that Allah knew not much of what you did.
And you were not covering yourselves, lest your hearing testify against you or your sight or your skins, but you assumed that Allah does not know much of what you do.
وَذَٰلِكُمْ ظَنُّكُمُ الَّذِي ظَنَنتُم بِرَبِّكُمْ أَرْدَاكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم مِّنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
Wathalikum thannukumu allathee thanantum birabbikum ardakum faasbahtum mina alkhasireena
And that (was) your assumption which you assumed about your Lord. It has ruined you, and you have of the losers.
and that very thought which you thought about your Sustainer has brought you to perdition, and so now you find yourselves among the lost!"
"But this thought of yours which ye did entertain concerning your Lord, hath brought you to destruction, and (now) have ye become of those utterly lost!"
That, your thought which ye did think about your Lord, hath ruined you; and ye find yourselves (this day) among the lost.
And that, your (evil) thought which you entertained about your Lord, ruined you, so have you become of the lost ones?
And that was your assumption which you assumed about your Lord. It has brought you to ruin, and you have become among the losers."
