64 - Mutual Blaming (Al-Taghaabun)

Order of Revelation: 108

وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ فَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَىٰ رَسُولِنَا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ

Transliteration:

WaateeAAoo Allaha waateeAAoo alrrasoola fa-in tawallaytum fa-innama AAala rasoolina albalaghu almubeenu

Word by Word:

So obey Allah and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away, then only upon Our Messenger (is) the conveyance clear.

Translations:

Pay heed, then, unto God, and pay heed unto the Apostle; and if you turn away, [know that] Our Apostle's only duty is a clear delivery of this message:

So obey God, and obey His Apostle: but if ye turn back, the duty of Our Apostle is but to proclaim (the Message) clearly and openly.

Obey Allah and obey His messenger; but if ye turn away, then the duty of Our messenger is only to convey (the message) plainly.

And obey Allah and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away, the duty of Our Messenger is only to deliver (the message) clearly.

And obey Allah and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away - then upon Our Messenger is only [the duty of] clear notification.

اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ

Transliteration:

Allahu la ilaha illa huwa waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almu/minoona

Word by Word:

Allah, (there is) no god except Him. And upon Allah let put (their) trust the believers.

Translations:

God - there is no deity save Him! In God then let the believers place their trust.

God! There is no god but He: and on God, therefore, let the Believers put their trust.

Allah! There is no Allah save Him. In Allah, therefore, let believers put their trust.

Allah, there is no God but He. And on Allah let the believers rely.

Allah - there is no deity except Him. And upon Allah let the believers rely.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُمْ وَأَوْلَادِكُمْ عَدُوًّا لَّكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ وَإِن تَعْفُوا وَتَصْفَحُوا وَتَغْفِرُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

Transliteration:

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo inna min azwajikum waawladikum AAaduwwan lakum faihtharoohum wa-in taAAfoo watasfahoo wataghfiroo fa-inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

Word by Word:

O you who believe! Indeed, from your spouses and your children (are) enemies to you, so beware of them. But if you pardon and overlook and forgive, then indeed, Allah (is) Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Translations:

O YOU who have attained to faith! Behold, some of your spouses and your children are enemies unto you: so beware of them! But if you pardon [their faults] and forbear, and forgive-then, behold, God will be much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace.

O ye who believe! Truly, among your wives and your children are (some that are) enemies to yourselves: so beware of them! But if ye forgive and overlook, and cover up (their faults), verily God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

O ye who believe! Lo! among your wives and your children there are enemies for you, therefor beware of them. And if ye efface and overlook and forgive, then lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

O you who believe, surely of your wives and your children there are enemies to you, so beware of them. And if you pardon and forbear and forgive, surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

O you who have believed, indeed, among your wives and your children are enemies to you, so beware of them. But if you pardon and overlook and forgive - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

إِنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ وَاللَّهُ عِندَهُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ

Transliteration:

Innama amwalukum waawladukum fitnatun waAllahu AAindahu ajrun AAatheemun

Word by Word:

Only your wealth and your children (are) a trial, and Allah - with Him (is) a reward great.

Translations:

Your worldly goods and your children are but a trial and a temptation, whereas with God there is a tremendous reward.

Your riches and your children may be but a trial: but in the Presence of God, is the highest, Reward.

Your wealth and your children are only a temptation, whereas Allah! with Him is an immense reward.

Your wealth and your children are only a trial, and Allah -- with Him is a great reward.

Your wealth and your children are but a trial, and Allah has with Him a great reward.

فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ وَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا وَأَنفِقُوا خَيْرًا لِّأَنفُسِكُمْ وَمَن يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ

Transliteration:

Faittaqoo Allaha ma istataAAtum waismaAAoo waateeAAoo waanfiqoo khayran li-anfusikum waman yooqa shuhha nafsihi faola-ika humu almuflihoona

Word by Word:

So fear Allah what you are able and listen and obey and spend; (it is) better for yourselves. And whoever is saved (from the) greediness (of) his soul, then those [they] (are) the successful ones.

Translations:

Remain, then, conscious of God as best you can, and listen [to Him], and pay heed. And spend in charity for the good of your own selves: for, such as from their own covetousness are saved it is they, they that shall attain to a happy state!

So fear God as much as ye can; listen and obey and spend in charity for the benefit of your own soul and those saved from the covetousness of their own souls,- they are the ones that achieve prosperity.

So keep your duty to Allah as best ye can, and listen, and obey, and spend; that is better for your souls. And whoso is saved from his own greed, such are the successful.

So keep your duty to Allah as much as you can, and hear and obey and spend; it is better for your souls. And whoever is saved from the greediness of his soul, these it is that are the successful.

So fear Allah as much as you are able and listen and obey and spend [in the way of Allah ]; it is better for your selves. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.

إِن تُقْرِضُوا اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا يُضَاعِفْهُ لَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ شَكُورٌ حَلِيمٌ

Transliteration:

In tuqridoo Allaha qardan hasanan yudaAAifhu lakum wayaghfir lakum waAllahu shakoorun haleemun

Word by Word:

If you loan (to) Allah a loan goodly, He will multiply it for you and will forgive you. And Allah (is) Most Appreciative, Most Forbearing,

Translations:

If you offer up to God a goodly loan, He will amply repay you for it, and will forgive you your sins: for God is ever responsive to gratitude, forbearing,

If ye loan to God, a beautiful loan, He will double it to your (credit), and He will grant you Forgiveness: for God is most Ready to appreciate (service), Most Forbearing,-

If ye lend unto Allah a goodly loan, He will double it for you and will forgive you, for Allah is Responsive, Clement,

If you set apart for Allah a goodly portion, He will double it for you and forgive you. And Allah is the multiplier (of rewards), Forbearing,

If you loan Allah a goodly loan, He will multiply it for you and forgive you. And Allah is Most Appreciative and Forbearing.
