يُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَرْحَمُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُقْلَبُونَ
Transliteration:
YuAAaththibu man yashao wayarhamu man yashao wa-ilayhi tuqlaboona
Word by Word:
He punishes whom He wills and has mercy (on) whom He wills, and to Him you will be return
Translations:
He causes to suffer whomever He wills, and bestows His mercy on whomever He wills; and unto Him you shall be made to return:
"He punishes whom He pleases, and He grants Mercy to whom He pleases, and towards Him are ye turned.
He punisheth whom He will and showeth mercy unto whom He will, and unto Him ye will be turned.
He chastises whom He pleases and has mercy on whom He pleases, and to Him you will be turned back.
He punishes whom He wills and has mercy upon whom He wills, and to Him you will be returned.
